Atabix (www.atabix.com), based in Amsterdam, focuses on digitizing critical processes for governments and large enterprises. In August 2022, DELTA Equity Partners acquired a majority stake in Atabix to accelerate growth together with the founders. The goal is to further expand the company through an active buy & build strategy into a leading player in government digitalization. In December 2022, Kodision (www.kodision.nl) joined Atabix. Oberon has now also joined Atabix.
Oberon (www.oberon.nl) was founded in 1993. Oberon has built a strong reputation by developing digital platforms that are of strategic importance to its clients. Oberon is able to quickly and effectively digitize clients’ critical processes in a user-friendly way. With this acquisition, Atabix Group gains valuable expertise in the areas of accessibility and user-friendliness of digital platforms—topics that are currently receiving a great deal of attention within the public sector. After the acquisition, Atabix Group employs 162 professionals.
Recent new guidelines and laws, such as the Electronic Administrative Traffic Modernization Act (Wet Modernisering Elektronisch Bestuurlijk Verkeer) and the Digital Decade program, are accelerating digital transformation within the government. Increasing emphasis is being placed on user-friendliness and accessibility in all public tenders. Many government digital applications still do not fully comply with all aspects of the WCAG 2.1 accessibility standard. Atabix Group is a quality-driven player that helps governments achieve their digital goals. All Atabix Group applications are designed with great attention to accessibility and user experience.
“The collaboration with Atabix Group opens new opportunities and markets for Oberon,” says Gert Braun (Director at Oberon). “We are pleased to have found a partner with the same entrepreneurial culture that enables Oberon to continue growing and provides new opportunities and challenges for our team. Atabix Group holds a strong position in the public sector. With our expertise, we can further increase our positive impact on society by developing user-friendly applications for the public domain.”
David Westerhof (CEO Atabix Group): “Atabix Group has the domain expertise to develop high-quality software solutions for the public sector. Accessibility for citizens and civil servants is becoming increasingly important. With the addition of Oberon to Atabix Group, our capabilities grow even stronger, allowing us to develop products that stand out for their user experience. The buy & build strategy we initiated is truly paying off—and we’re far from finished.”
